(Himantopus leucocephalus)

This red-billed gull (Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae) rested on my car, clearly hoping I would have food when I returned. I didn't.

This time he found the cats' tennis ball and had a good game with it. 

We inherited a number of souvenir tea towels so I made them into cushions.

New Zealand dotterel (Anarhynchus obscurus) checking me out. It was a beach where the birds are used to the presence of people who usually ignore or don't even notice them. This one realised that I was watching it.

Bella (right) took exception to the strange black and white cat that turned up. There was a lot of growling and other antagonistic noise but eventually the stranger rolled over and yawned and Bella backed off, slowly and carefully.

It was a dreary winter day with some cold rain but the little shag (Microcarbo melanoleucos) was still out fishing.

I was wrapping some parcels and Rani thought it was great fun.

Rani had a half-grown rat bailed up (just to the left of her out-stretched paw). I went out to see what was happening and so did Simba. 

Simba watching the 1% club on TV. Yes, it's a terrible photo - a grab shot in low light with no flash - but I liked the humour of it. He was responding to the bright light and movement on the screen.
