I finally found an octopus on our last day (right foreground). When I dropped some food near it, a starfish came out of the den instead. It checked out the food, then went to back the same spot behind the octopus. The octopus wasn't interested in me.
When watching this rockpool, every couple of minutes I saw a little fish come out from under its ledge, look around for a few seconds, then go back. It was only about 1cm long but its colour really stood out.
The foal galloped a long way down the hill and onto the flat where several of the herd were grazing, including a black horse that looked like "Mum". When it realised its mistake it turned and galloped back up the hill where it met its mother coming to find it.
The resident fishes in these rocks had been displaced by a moray eel. It wasn't brave enough to come far out of its lair, but did take food that I dropped close to it. The next day the eel was gone and the fishes were back in their usual spot.
