The Taiwanese cherries are in flower and the tuis love their nectar. This bird's claim on this tree is both vocal and physical - incessantly chasing other birds away. This photo shows the long tongue that reaches to the bottom of each flower.
After a few days of bad weather this octopus had somehow got caught out in a hollow "pool" that had had the water drain out as the tide went down. It would have had several hours to wait for the tide to come so I moved it to the water and hope it survived.
My intention with this page is to highlight one photo from each outing and tell its story in a couple of sentences. The subjects will vary - it will be whatever caught my eye or was most special on that day.
